# TrueNerd Privacy Policy

## Who we are

## What we collect
- Your lessons: what you write, type, say and photograph in a lesson, and the tutor's replies.
- Your installation account: a random account ID, the versions of these documents you accepted, your language, the kind of age check used, and when the account was created and last used.
- Your subscription: App Store transaction identifiers, the plan, its status and renewal dates, and how much of the allowance has been used. We never receive your name, email address or payment details.
- Diagnostics: error reports and service logs, with the app version and the system version of your device.
- Reports you send: the tutor reply you report, your message just before it, your reason and your note.

We don't collect your name, email address, contacts or location, and we don't track you or show ads.

## Age checks
A date of birth you enter is used only on your device to check that TrueNerd is available to you. It is never stored or sent. Where the law requires it, TrueNerd asks Apple for your age range instead. The age range is used only for that check and for a parent's approval, and it is not sent to us.

## How we use it
We use this information to provide tutoring, keep track of the allowance, check that requests come from the real TrueNerd app, fix problems and improve the tutor. The App Store version of TrueNerd never uploads your lessons; they stay on your device. Beta versions installed through TestFlight upload finished lessons so our team can diagnose problems and improve TrueNerd.

## Who we share it with
- OpenAI, for AI tutoring: receives your lesson content to create the tutor's replies and voice. OpenAI does not use it to train its models. It may keep it for up to 30 days to provide the service and prevent abuse. Each request carries a code derived from your subscription, never your name, so OpenAI can report misuse.
- Google Cloud, for hosting: stores your installation account, subscription records and lessons uploaded from beta versions.
- Apple, for purchases, app integrity and age checks.

We don't sell or rent personal information.

## Where it is processed
Your information is processed and stored in the United States.

## How long we keep it
- On your device: until you delete your account or the app.
- Your installation account and lessons uploaded from beta versions: until you delete your account, or 12 months after the installation was last used.
- Subscription records: 12 months after the subscription ends.
- Reports you send: 12 months, or until you delete your account.
- Service logs: about 30 days.

## Your choices
Delete Account in Settings › Account immediately deletes your account, your uploaded lessons and your lesson data on this device, and stops AI processing. Your subscription continues until you cancel it with Apple. For other requests, such as a copy of your data or data from an earlier installation, email [hello@truenerd.app](mailto:hello@truenerd.app) with the account ID shown in Settings › Account.

## Children
TrueNerd is not for children under 13. If we learn that we hold information from a child under 13, we delete it.

## Security
Every request must come from a genuine copy of the TrueNerd app, and information is encrypted in transit. Access to stored lessons is limited to our team.

## Changes
When we make a material change to this policy, TrueNerd asks you to accept it before your next lesson.
